Finding the difference between nuts and dry fruits can be a tough nut to crack! Many times googling for dried fruits can throw you off, for nuts find their way to the dried fruit list too. Now that the supermarket shelves are loaded with dried, salted and other flavour coated nuts, should we just worry about how healthy they are or something more?
What are nuts? fruits or seeds or legumes?

Nuts, on the other hand, are just the ‘seeds’ or the ‘kernels’ of various plants which have high or similar nutritional values to their counterpart fruits.
To give a more understandable explanation, nuts are considered indehiscent which means their shell does not open when ripe. Edible seeds of fruits with outer shells are super hard to make nuts.
